PARADISEI've spent the last few days showing a Melbourne friend around and it once again reinforced how utterly fantastic it is down here.
Wednesday Lunch at Providore
Quick trip up the road to Woodlands, back in the car and had to stop at Gralyns, and then to see the lovely Kate at Howard Park.
Fabulous 7 hour cooked lamb for dinner, courtesy of my mum and Shane at Cowaramup Meat Specialists, as well as a bit more wine.
Thursday
Tasting at Cullens and then Voyager.
Took advantage of the $55 lunch at Must (2 courses and a glass of wine for 2 people), then onto a tasting at Moss Wood.
Dinner was veal in a mushroom sauce, courtesy of Shane once again to accompany some of the region's best chardonnays (all in the name of research mind you) - Ashbrook, Pierro, Moss Wood and Fraser Gallop.
Friday
A bit more low-keyed today, but had lunch at Cafetti (new cafe on Botrill Street, just up from Candy Cow).
Lorraine is a great cook.
Well that was a bit self-indulgent, but it just goes to show how lucky we are .... but you knew that already didn't you!
