BACK ON SITE
Now that the sun has made its reappearance (when it feels like it), the contractors have been able to get back on site and finish where they left off at the start of winter. First up, is finishing off the intersection (will be further upgraded for stage 2/3) and footpaths. The new footpaths will run alongside Bottrill Street and also alongside one side of the living streams. The piles of dirt and such will also be taken away and then we can do a final tidy up. After all that we should also soon see new homes go up. How exciting!

DEFIBRILLATOR
Thanks to some lovely ladies - Linda, Jane and Liz and the generous support of the community, a defibrillator has been purchased to remain stationed in Cowaramup, which could literally mean the difference between life and death. Notable donations came from the Cowaramup Lions Club ($1000), Ad-Care Margaret River ($1000) and Cowaramup Pharmacy ($500), along side the hundreds of dollars from collection tins around town. Twenty residents recently attended a training session to learn to use the device. For those unable to take up the opportunity, St Johns can be contacted for further training.
The emergency services do a fantastic job all round, however sometimes cannot get to a patient in time. If someone has a heart attack their best chance of survival comes from a shock being administered within 5 to 10 mins. The machine will be kept at the Duggan Pavilion and instructions left to explain how to access it. While we hope it is never actually needed, it is great to know it is there.
Will keep you posted with instructions on how to access it, once it is installed.

WILDFLOWERS
Walking through the bush around Cowaramup this afternoon I was reminded of these photos I meant to post a while ago. My Aunty Judy took these a few weeks ago are typical of the wildflowers that can be found in the region in sprint. From top to bottom:
1. Kangaroo paws (easy one)
2. Spider Orchid
3. Bacon and Egg plant
4. Enamel Orchid

I'll be a bit sad when they disappear for another year - although bring on summer I say! Read more!

SUBSCRIBE AND WIN(E)
Keith and Clare from Moss Wood wines have kindly donated a carton of 2007 Chardonnay for our little competion - anyone who subscribes to the Cowaramup Country e-news before Christmas goes into the draw to win. Drawn on 22/12/09, it'll be a lovely Christmas present.

"Moss Wood's Margaret River chardonnays have a high reputation that's bound to be enhanced by this sumptuous drop. Very complex butterscotch, grapefruit, nectarine and nutty/mealy notes mark the nose, then follow powerfully down the palate with creamy-smooth texture and an ultra-long toasty finish."

Thanks to Keith and Clare
PS and if there are only 11 bottles in the carton when you receive it..... it wasn't me..

LOT SIGNS
Oops, I fell off the perch a bit and it's been a little while since I last wrote a blog post. To think I was doing so well! We've got the lot signs made up now, so it's easy to see which lot number and the the size. If you look closely each lot sign has a little message. AND if you look really closely one of the message contains a mistake (seems so obvious now that it has been pointed out to me!) First person to find the mistake wins a carton of wine/beer. Your choice!.

We've made up special signs for the buyers. Just like Paula's here... and there is one for Kylie and Tom... Rick and Kristina... David and Diane, Michelle, James, Shannon and Daniel, Norm and Vicki, Graeme and Lorraine, Adrienne, Kevin and Anne.... and AJ.
