GETTING CLOSER!
The civil works have been going really well and are on track to be finished in June!

We hit a bit of rock early on (no one expected quite so much), but with a lot of hard digging (and a few big bangs!) we eventually got through it.

We've been able to use most of the rock in other places in the development; crushed some for road base and also through the living streams.

The roads are taking shape. Above is a picture of Roy Earl Drive taken at the beginning of April. If you drive past now, you'll see blue metal now and it's about ready to link onto Bussell Highway.

The plants in the living stream are doing really well and better than anyone expected. When we planted them back in September last year, we thought we might loose about 20% but there have hardly been any casualties and in fact they have been powering along.

The Cowaramup Primary School kids, who helped with some of the planting will be able to come back and see how everything has grown, once construction has finished.

I'm really pleased that the school could take part in the development of the living streams.

I remember when I when I was in year 2 or 3 at Cowaramup and we planted trees out on Miamup Road where the old tip used to be. It always brings back memories when I drive past (usually on my way to a winery) so I hope this project will bring the kids good memories as they see the stream evolve.

Only about four more weeks to go and Stage 1 is finished!

We'll have to start thinking about a celebratory drink or two.
